Rosa Park is an African American who refused to give up her seat on December 1, 1955. Rosa Parks was going home after work, she then got on the bus 2587 and took a empty seat. The bus driver and other people on the bus 2587 asked her to move to the back of the bus to allow a white person to sit up front. On this day she refused to give up her seat and she was sent to jail for roughly a day, because she broke the law. Rosa Parks on this particular day December 1, 1955 took a stand for what she knew was true. Which started the bus boycott the following day of her arrest until the U.S. Supreme Court ruled segregation on buses was unconstitutional. Making history Rosa Parks became a symbol for strength and honor standing up to racial segregation.
